Sunny Days
Summer is here in full force in Utah. It’s sunny and hot. The days are longer and it’s hot. There’s a ton of fun things to do, even though it’s hot. It’s warm and it’s hot. It’s also hot.
I’ve heard it said about Utah, “But it’s a dry heat.” I understand the sentiment. I’ve been in places where the heat plus the humidity make you think long and hard about your salvation because descriptions of judgment and summer in the deep south are strikingly similar.
Dry heat or not, it’s still hot.
There are some nice things to help beat the heat. Water. Watermelon. Lemonade. Ice. Ice cream. Ice skating. Swimming pools. Trips to the lake. Splash pads. Shade. And my favorite, AIR CONDITIONING. Can I get an “AMEN”?!
Psalm 113:3 reminds us that when the sun is out, it’s time to worship. It’s time to praise the LORD. It’s time to choose gratitude, joy, and hope. When the sun rises until it goes down, we should praise God.
So, what are you up to these sunny (and hot) days?
Let’s include Praising the Name of the Lord to our daily routine. It will make summer (and every season) even better, especially when it’s hot.
Grace & Peace,
Keith
